Frequently Asked Questions

    • Arrange a Free 15 minute phone consultation to review your history, concerns and symptoms to determine if Retreat Wellness Physical Therapy is right for you.

    • Initial Evaluation - First session includes a thorough evaluation to learn the potential root of your problem. Evaluation will assess several areas of your body such as posture, breathing pattern, pelvic alignment, strength, flexibility and balance. Evaluations typically last 60-75 minutes and include education on the evaluation findings as well as a few exercises

    • Follow Up visits - Sessions typically last 60 minutes and focus on manual restorative techniques to address underlying problems as well as strengthening and mobility exercises to achieve true transformation from your issue.

Retreat Wellness is unlike traditional clinics. You can pick where you feel most comfortable receiving treatment. Retreat Wellness offers in office visits in a studio office or mobile visits where you can receive physical therapy in the comfort of your home.

  • You do not need a referral but if you have one, great! Dr. Ellen has her Direct Access License In Pennsylvania. This means you receive physical therapy for 30 days without a doctor’s prescription. After that time, we will need to obtain a physician’s order to continue treatment.

If you have a referral from your physician you can choose ANYWHERE to receive your therapy. We would be honored if you choose Retreat Wellness. Your physical therapy referral can be faxed to: 717-305-1319

  • Retreat Wellness is an out-of-network provider for all commercial insurance plans other than Medicare. This model allows us to offer personalized, one-on-one care with longer, higher-quality sessions tailored to your needs.

We collect payment at the time of service and accept cash, credit cards, checks, Venmo, FSA, and HSA. Many patients with high-deductible plans find that our cash-based model is more cost-effective than using in-network providers.

If you have a health share plan or wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement, we’re happy to provide a superbill or itemized receipt with all necessary information upon request. Please note that submitting claims and confirming reimbursement eligibility is the sole responsibility of the patient. If you're unsure of your out-of-network benefits, we recommend calling your insurance provider and asking about coverage for “out-of-network physical therapy.” We’re here to help guide you through the process and find a plan that works for your schedule, lifestyle, and budget.

  • That’s entirely up to you! As long as you’re comfortable, we can continue with your treatment sessions as planned. In fact, it can sometimes be helpful to address symptoms you may experience during your period. If you're not comfortable with internal work during this time, we can focus on external techniques and therapeutic exercises instead. However, if you’d prefer to reschedule, that’s always an option too. Please just be sure to cancel with 24 hours notice to avoid a cancelation fee.

  • We understand that things come up and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us the opportunity to offer the slot to another patient on our waiting list.

Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment will incur a $100 fee. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
